Pub & Freehouse

A welcoming family run country pub with good food and friendly staff. Extensive outdoor seating with a children’s play area makes this a great venue for family dining. Originally dating back to 1374, it was then a farmhouse known as “Collewelle Haw”, but by 1765 it’s name had evolved to the “Galley Hall”. The Galley Hall became a Beer House during the 1830’s being kept by one Benjamin Logsdale, whose name appears in the first census returns of 1840. The deeds were conveyed in 1837 to Christie and Cathrow Brewers of Hoddesdon, although the property had probably been leased to them earlier. Bringing us up to date the Pub has been extended in character to provide an extra Function Room and Patio area providing comfortable dining and space for your events.
